HERRICK'S CUTTING SELLICKS HILL (giclee print)

ARCHIVAL GICLEE PRINT. Limited Edition, high quality reproduction of the an original acrylic painting. The painting is scanned or photographed, colour is adjusted to be as close to the original artwork as possible, then printed using pigment inks onto archival Hahnemuhle German Etching paper. The quality of the reproduction, hues and tonalities are exceptional museum quality. Each Limited Edition print is numbered and signed individually by the artist and placed into an archival plastic bag for longevity. The print can be posted in a tube or a box. There’s a story of Tom Herrick, who carted pebbles daily from the beach to Sellick's Hill. Rains eroded the landscape in the tracks creating sculptural forms and a deep ravine in the bare landscape. Burnt oranges, golden yellows with blue-violet shadows are etched into the cutting that formed, making rhythmic shapes in the landscape. The original was a finalist in the Heysen Art Prize 2009.
