The relationship between physical exercise and being out in nature inspires me massively. Wherever I travel I take a sketchbook and a small set of watercolours and some pens. It’s handy, quick, and easy to clean as well as being light weight which is a factor on my journeys.
This large watercolour is based on a plein air sketch while hiking in Tasmania’s south west. The raw force of nature, and moody skies is depicted by the composition. Every strip of landscape has its own sky and texture as is true to the Tassie bush.
I used watercolours, watercolour inks, and black ink.
