This piece was created in response to my love of the Banksia and won the Premier Art Prize at Gallery M's Contemporary Art Prize 2019.
I love hand carving the lino, though it is laborious it allows me to deeply connect with the work through slow observation.
The Banksia is an iconic Australian plant and one that holds great significance, both for the wildlife and the biodiversity of this ancient species.
