Rupshi

Dr Rupshi Mitra is an artist, neuroscientist and conservationist who is driven to enhance appreciation of nature's beauty in everyone's mind. Through her scientific work, she established the potential of biophilia (liking for nature), in facilitating cognition and resilience. Specifically, her research established environments' primary role in regulating stress response and brain plasticity. Through her artwork she paints stories of our mind as driven by natural landscapes as well as, our own life's history as sketched in brain networks. Her art uniquely intermingle many mysteries of neurons and nature, often capturing common patterns in both. She wishes to tell stories of brain, through her artwork and to deliver a bit of biophilic naturalistic world in everyone's home. She regularly conducts art-science interdisciplinary talks and workshops in galleries in and around Adelaide.
