Moving back to Kaurna country has altered and inspired my artistic journey. The desert textures and vibrant earth tones have directed a landscape oil painting series. Always a chameleon, originally I began as a printmaker in Sydney. The industrial edges and frenetic energy of the city led to whimsical and fantastical intaglio prints. Later residing in the coastal serenity of Bermagui, NSW, landscapes came a thing. The contour of the rocks, ever changing ocean and birdlife instigated a new approach. I used dip pens in ink and used all surfaces to scratch my fairytales. Now living back in South Australia, between the ocean and the hills, oil painting has become my chosen medium. I seek to paint all South Australian birds in their magical habitat.
