Ruth – Recovery, Strength

I found Ruth bathing in the sunlight, in love with her body and the strength it holds. Her journey is not mine. Creating Ruth helped me to work through the emotions of seeing my dear friend navigating her journey with cancer, one that is ongoing. She is Art is an evolving story of healing. Each stroke is imbued with the artist's pain, joy and peace. Working intuitively the artist allowed her emotions to guide the colours and forms, breathing life into each piece and revealing the strong women within the collection. If you look closely, there is a small moment you may have overlooked, their eyes are closed. This little detail is to recognise the far too many women who STILL cannot look upon the world with the same freedom and rights as we do here in Australia and beyond
