I guess most of us are fascinated by dreams, and things we really don’t understand and I’m no different. I find it exciting and challenging attempting to visualise unlikely, unworldly possibilities and for me, the notion of interpreting the unexplained fits perfectly within the Surrealism genré.
And although all of my artwork is surreal, many of the pieces imply a narrative that on occasions … just might be plausible. I strongly believe that my artwork should stand on it’s own merits without being supported by a verbose explanation that steers or guides the spectator to a fixed conclusion. It remains much more engaging to leave the exploration of a “backstory” in the hands of the spectator to interpret on the own terms :-)
