This striking, illustration features the large, flower spike of an Orange, Acorn Banksia (Banksia prionotes) and saw like leaves. Initiallly the bud is white before opening to a bright orange from February to August. Native to Western Australia, these magnificent flowers are a popular feature in Australian native flower arrangements. Hand drawn using waterproof pigment liners, then select areas are hand painted with watercolour. Coloured pencil helps to define and give more detail to each piece. White gouache is used for highlights on the flower. High quality, 300gsm watercolour paper. Sprayed with permanent matt finish to protect the artwork.
