Peter Wallfried

My hand built terra cotta pots and planters are as textured and individual as the plants in them. All my pots are made in my outside workspace where I roll, scrape, bash, poke, cut and join the pieces to create the shapes. My style can be summed up as Art Brut, raw, textured and maybe outside the traditional pottery field, but unusual, individual and perfect for the prickly and rugged plants that they house. The planters are meant to stand outside, but of course are quite ok inside as well. Each planter houses a single, double or sometimes three plants, some are made to place on a wall or fence. To keep things simple, only coloured clays and oxides are used hence the work is only fired once.
