Carly Tarkari Dodd is a Kaurna\Narungga and Ngarrindjeri artist and curator. She creates conceptually and culturally driven works with a mix of traditional and contemporary techniques. Learning traditional weaving skills from a young age by Ngarindjerri elder Aunty Ellen Trevorrow has inspired a more sculptural woven pieces in recent years. Carly has won the South Australia NAIDOC Young Person of the Year in 2018 largely for working with community in the arts sector. She was a finalist in the MAKE Award in 2023, and she has exhibited her work at various events such as ACE Gallery, Mars Gallery, Australian Design Centre, and The Studio at the Art Gallery of South Australia.
