Andrea Travaglia

I am currently studying Visual Arts at AC Arts. My training is in archaeology, and I find the observational process to be a bridge that links archaeology and art. Archaeologists survey and document material culture to reconstruct past human behaviours and environments, while artists examine their surroundings to create visual representations based on personal interpretation. Both fields rely on the ability to explore, perceive, and translate experiences across time. My relationship with these disciplines encourages me to find new ways to connect emotionally and intellectually with historical narratives and contemporary issues. I use research and observational skills honed in archaeology to inform my art practice. My style leans toward narrative art, often using abstract and symbolic elements tied to historical, personal, and contemporary themes. I am particularly drawn to ideas of memory, fragments, cultural identity, and temporal connections.
